The Woman Behind the Flavors
Originally from a community where family-owned restaurants and home-cooked meals were the heart of every gathering, Chef Trenita found herself missing that experience after relocating with her family to Phoenix, Arizona, in 2015. Surrounded primarily by commercial chain restaurants, she longed for the flavors, comfort, and connection that came from authentic, homemade food.
What started as a simple solution quickly turned into a thriving business.
In 2018, Chef Trenita officially launched her catering company by preparing weekend dinner plates and personally delivering them to local barbershops, beauty salons, and community gathering spots throughout Phoenix. As word spread about her flavorful meals and exceptional service, requests for catering began pouring in for baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, and special events.
When the world changed in 2020, Chef Trenita adapted.
As families spent more time at home during the pandemic, she was hired by a local family to serve as their in-home private chef. With no formal roadmap for becoming a private chef, she learned through experience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. That first opportunity opened doors to a new chapter in her career.
Soon, professional athletes began reaching out through social media, requesting customized meal prep services. Then came a life-changing opportunity in 2021 when NBA player Jay Crowder contacted her about becoming his in-home private chef while he played for the Phoenix Suns.
Just one week into the role, Chef Trenita was introduced to an entirely new culinary challenge when Crowder adopted a vegan lifestyle. Determined to provide the highest level of service, she immersed herself in plant-based cuisine, mastering new techniques and developing creative, flavorful vegan dishes. That experience expanded her expertise and established her as a versatile chef capable of meeting a wide range of dietary needs.
After her time with Crowder, Chef Trenita continued serving private dining clients throughout Scottsdale and Paradise Valley while growing her reputation among professional athletes and high-profile families. She later became the private chef for Major League Baseball star David Price and his family, serving them through the end of 2024.
Then came another defining moment.
Chef Trenita received a call from the family of NBA superstar Jayson Tatum to discuss what it would look like to provide private chef services in Boston. She flew to Boston for a trial week, cooking Monday through Friday. By Tuesday, she had already secured the position.
Within a month, Chef Trenita and her family relocated to Boston, marking the beginning of yet another exciting chapter in her career.
Today, Chef Trenita continues to provide elevated culinary experiences. Her approach combines restaurant-quality cuisine with the warmth and comfort of home, creating memorable meals that bring people together.
